If you happen to stop by, and notice my hit count is 1,234, could you take a screenshot and send it over? I’d rather like that. I’m scared I’ll miss it.

edit: Wooo!

So, I discovered we have a month(ish) left for the internet thing. SHI…
Oh my, the website is evilly misleading. I shall throw something at them.
My mother is to blame – she waited more than a month before setting up the broadband (what a waste of 10GB and $44.95)

I really like The Carpenters. Although apparently I’m meant to call them Carpenters, without the ‘the’. But saying “I like Carpenters” implies something different entirely.

I’m going to try to use the internet less during the holidays. That said, expect a daily blog, if not – at least once every couple of days. Also, feel free to keep my hit count smiling.

I’m back to Firefox by the way. Opera seemed to crash a bit, and I missed Sage, FoxyTunes, awesome middle-click bookmarks, email checker and my little weather button. And remember: . Firefox also slightly beats Opera.

There’s nothing I hate more than nothing
Nothing keeps me up at night
I toss and turn over nothing
Nothing could start a great big fight

  1. Rock-on hair bands

Much of the hair is gone, but the songs live on.

Though often maligned in its heyday, the music of ’80s and early-’90s hair bands and glam-metal groups has shown surprising resilience.

Nooooo don’t go back to Firefox!
Opera does everything that Firefox does! You can even control it with your voice if you have a microphone. There are lots of features you haven’t found yet! Honest! For instance, it has an inbuilt torrent client, irc client, email client (that can work with hotmail, etc), content blocker, and you can middle click on links to open them in a new tab behind the current tab!
Typing “w fiona” into the address bar will automatically search Wikipedia for ‘Fiona’. “g fiona” does that for Google.
Control + left clicking on an image will save it to your harddrive. It has mouse gestures! if you hold down the right mouse button over a link, and keep holding as you move the mouse down and up again, it will open that link in a new tab behind the current tab. There are many other mouse gestures. Opera conforms to web standards more than Firefox and IE, and can display image types that are not supported by other browsers.
Once you get to know all the features of Opera, the internet becomes much easier to navigate.
If it crashes on you, then I suppose you can’t use it =(
but I have rarely had it crash on me :P

Let’s make a deal. I’ll swap around between the two, and see how it goes.
And the email didn’t work with hotmail. I tested. I got a email, and waited ten minutes, and no email came through on the Opera thing.

Also, adblock plus means I don’t have to see the ads before they hide them. They’re automatically hidden. :D

Haha ok, but once you block a Google advert, it should block all Google adverts on all websites. It also blocks other advert services.

I don’t know why the email doesn’t work properly for you, it works fine for me :P

  5. 5 Fi

It does, but not all ads are google. Also, I could just…you know… not have to do that :p

Maybe I set it up wrong? Doesn’t hotmail not allow people to use email clients? You can’t, for example, use outlook.

  6. Okay, get out of Hotmail – fast! Move over to Gmail. I can show you mine some time, I have it set up to be awesome.

Convergence is not always a welcome thing. There are some things I don’t want my browser to do.
